The challenge

Independent auto shops track job orders on carbon paper and vehicle history in the service advisor's memory. When a car returns six months later, nobody can say what was replaced, which parts were used, or what the customer was quoted — so work gets re-diagnosed and margin leaks through untracked parts.

Our approach

A management app built around the job order as the central record. A vehicle is identified once by plate and VIN, then every visit, part, labour line and technician assignment attaches to it permanently — giving the shop a searchable history and the owner a view of where time and parts actually go.

What it does

01

Job order lifecycle

Intake, diagnosis, approval, work-in-progress and release — each stage timestamped and assignable to a technician.

02

Vehicle service history

Every job attaches to a vehicle record by plate and VIN, so returning customers arrive with a full history.

03

Parts and inventory

Parts consumed on a job deduct from stock and carry through to the invoice, closing the gap between work done and parts billed.

04

Technician assignment

Work is allocated per technician with visibility into current load and completed jobs.

05

Quotations and invoicing

Approved estimates convert into invoices without re-entry, keeping quoted and billed figures aligned.

What it changes

  • Service history survives staff turnover
  • Parts usage reconciles against what was billed
  • Owners see job throughput and technician load without asking
